The Assam State Film Awards is an annual event organized by the Government of Assam to honor and recognize the outstanding contribution of individuals and teams in the film industry of Assam. The event is an essential platform for Filmmakers, Actors, Technicians, and others in the film industry to showcase their talent and creativity and be recognized for their hard work and dedication.
The Assam government has announced the winners of the 8th Assam State Film Awards 2023. The winners were revealed during a press conference by the Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah at the Assam Legislative Assembly seminar hall. The awards ceremony is scheduled at the national auditorium, Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, on March 13. A group of jury panels selected the winners for films released in 2018 and 2019.
The awards include categories for the best films, actors, actresses, directors, music composers, cinematographers, and other technical categories. However, the winners of the award for the best film critic, lifetime achievement award, and Jayanta Hazarika Award for outstanding contribution to Assamese Cinema will be announced soon. The Assam State Film Awards is an important event recognizing the hard work, dedication, and creativity of talented individuals and teams in the Assamese film industry.
