What is CTET Exam?
CTET is a central-level examination for recruiting teachers for classes 1 to 8 across the country for central government schools. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the CTET examination every year. The CTET exam is to determine candidates’ eligibility for appointment as teachers in Central Government Schools such as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan (KVS) or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
CTET 2023 exam is expected to be held in the month of July and August 2023. The CTET 2023 Exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode Only.

CTET vs TET
The CTET is a central TET exam conducted by the CBSE board for appointing teachers for the central government schools for classes 1 to 8 whereas the TET is a state-level TET exam conducted by the different states of India. For example, Assam TET, Assam conducts the TET exam on a yearly basis.
CTET qualified candidates are eligible for applying to the central government schools and unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET. On the Other hand the schools owned and managed by the State Government and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government.
Qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for Employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.

CTET 2023 Selection Process
Computer-Based Test (CBT): The selection process for the CTET examination 2023 will be through Computer Based Test (CBT).
CTET 2023 Exam Pattern
CTET Paper I and CTET Paper II will be conducted through CBT mode. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. Each carries one mark and there will be no negative marking.
- CTET Paper I is for the candidate who intends to be a teacher for classes I-V
- CTET Paper II is for the candidate who intends to be a teacher for classes VI-VIII
NOTE: A person who intends to teach for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both papers (Paper I and Paper II).

List of Central Schools Accepting CTET Qualified Teachers
The CTET-qualified candidates can only apply to the Central Government Schools in India. The list of central government schools accepting CTET scores to appoint teachers for Class 1 to 8 is mentioned below:
