CCE Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Qualification
To be eligible to appear for APSC CCE (Main Exam) the candidate needs to possess a degree from a university that has been incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or from an educational institution that has been established by an Act of Parliament or has been declared as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. Alternatively, the candidate may hold a qualification that has been deemed equivalent by the Government.
Other Eligible criteria
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- A candidate should be able to speak Assamese or other official language or associate official languages of the State or any of the tribal languages of the State.
- A candidate must be an original inhabitant of Assam.
- Employment Exchange Registration: A candidate should be registered in a District Employment Office of Assam.
- Small Family Norms: Candidates have to submit a declaration regarding “The Small Family Norms” in Form-A at the time of applying for the C.C. (Prelim) Examination.

Selection Process
The Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) consist of two stages:
- The preliminary Examination
- The Main Examination
The Preliminary Examination
The Prelims examination is the first stage of CCE exam. The candidates in order to appear for main exam must successfully pass the prelim examination. The prelim exam consist of 2 papers General Studies-I & General Studies-II. The papers consist of 400 marks (200 marks each) which a duration 2 hour. In addition it consist of negative marking of one-fourth of the total mark assigned to one question will be deducted for wrong answer marked by a candidate.
The Main Examination
The main examination is the most important exam for APSC CCE exam. It consist of two stages;
- Written
- Interview
Written Test
After the Preliminary Examination results are out, 11 to 12 times the number of notified vacancies for each category will qualify for the written part of the Main Examination. The written examination will include six papers, which will be of either conventional essay type or objective type with limited words.
