JEE Mains 2022 Details
This year, JEE mains will be conducted twice, once in April and another one in May 2022. These twice exam has been named Session.
JEE Main Session 1
The JEE Mains 2022 first exam will start from 21 April to 4 May 2022. The exact date of JEE mains session 1 is 21, 24, 25, 29 April, and 1, 4 May 2022. It’ll complete in 6 days.
To appear for this Session 1 JEE mains exam, you need to apply online, for which the registration is currently going on. The last date of the same is 5 May 2022 (Tuesday). Those who haven’t applied, pl do apply asap. It’s the extended date, NTA gave 5 days extension window as the previous last date was 31 March 2022.
JEE Main Session 2
The JEE mains 2022 second exam will start from 24 May to 29 May 2022. The exact date of JEE mains session 2 is 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29 May 2022. Session 2 will also get completed in 6 days like session 1.
When the JEE mains exam was already conducted on Session 1, why is the NTA conducting a second time? Earlier the exam used to be conducted only one time but nowadays, it’s conducted multiple times and the same is defined in sessions. These initiatives are very helpful to the candidates (students):
- Candidates who couldn’t apply for Joint Entrance Exam Main session 1, can apply for Joint Entrance Exam Main session 2.
- Candidates can apply for both sessions, but a separate application (registration) is needed.
- Candidates who didn’t fare well in the session 1 exam, can appear for the session 2 exams for betterment.
- Candidates needn’t worry about the JEE score, as the best score/percentile among the two sessions exams will be taken for final rank making.
- It also helps candidates to deal with the exam fear, and related stress they go through as they have a second chance to appear for the JEE exams in case the first session didn’t go as per their plan.

So like mentioned above, to appear for the JEE mains session 2, you need to register for it separately once the online application is activated. It’ll be available soon, once the session 1 registration is completed on 5 April 2022.
JEE Mains Exam Type
The JEE Mains has two papers, namely Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Paper 1:
Aspiring engineering candidates who want to study for an undergraduate engineering degree (i.e., B.Tech/B.E.) at the NITs, IITs, CIFTs, and Engineering colleges/institutes/universities funded/recognized by participating state governments have to appear for Paper 1.
Paper 1 is also the eligibility criteria for the JEE Advanced entrance exam for admission into the IITs, one of India’s top Engineering Institutes. The JEE advanced exam registration will start soon once the JEE main exam is completed.
Paper 2:
Paper 2 is for aspiring engineers who are interested in Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), and Bachelor of Planning (B.Planning) undergraduate degrees in India.

How to Apply for JEE Mains 2022?
The registration for JEE mains 2022 session 1 is currently going on. You need to follow the below simple steps to apply online:
- Visit the online registration portal (link shared below in the imp web section).
- Fill out the application form, and pay the fee.
- Once completely filled, submit the form. Make no mistake, as there is no option for form editing after submission.
If you are waiting for the JEE mains 2022 session 2 registration then, it’s just 4 days away. The session 2 online registration of JEE mains will start on 8 April 2022.
JEE Main Admit Card (Session 1 & Session 2)
The admit card for JEE mains session 1 (first exam) will be available for download from 14 April 2022 onwards, and the exam from 21 April 2022 onwards.
The admit card for JEE mains session 2 (second exam) too will be available for download from a 2-3rd week of April 2022 (tentative date), as the second session exam is scheduled from 24 May onwards.
