What is SHRESHTA?
SHRESHTA full form Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas. Through the SHRESHTA scheme, the government of India is providing free schooling for the meritorious SC boys and girls in the residential schools in the country affiliated with CBSE. A total of 3000 students will be selected (30% reserved for girls) for admission in Class 9 and Class 11 under the scheme

What is NETS 2022?
NETS full form is National Entrance Test for SHRESTRA. This year, National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the NETS exam on 7 May 2022.
NETS exam is a gateway to avail FREE schooling for the poor SC students in the best residential schools (CBSE affiliation) in the country. Check the details below.
NETS 2022 Syllabus
Since the NETS 2022 paper will be based on the NCERT syllabus of class 8 for admission in class 9 and class 10 syllabus for admission in class 11. You need to study the NCERT books of Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and General Awareness/Knowledge.

Eligibility Criteria
- Students should belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community.
- Students should be studying in Class 8 and Class 10 in the academic year of 2021-22.
- The Parent’s Annual Income should be below 2.5 Lakhs.
- Family income below 1 Lakh will be given more preference.
- The candidate must possess his/her own Aadhar card.
Age Limit:
- Candidates applying for Class 9 should be born between 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2010 (both days inclusive).
- Candidates applying for Class 11 should be born between 1 April 2004 to 31 March 2008 (both days inclusive).
Exam Language
The NETS 2022 exam will be conducted in two languages:
- English
- Hindi

The application fee for NETS 2022 is FREE as it’s for the good cause for the FREE STUDY for the Scheduled Caste (SC) students.

Note 1: As per the NETS 2022 advertisement, the SHRESHTA exam 2022 will be conducted ONLINE but the NETS 2022 Information bulletin/brochure, it’s mentioned as OFFLINE.
Since there is confusion on the mode of exam, you can verify the same from your District Administration, who is responsible for school and selection, they might have the proper details about the same.
Note 2: There is a 30% Reservation for Girls students out of the total students selected.
SHRESHTA SCHOOLS LIST
The selected students after passing the NETS exam on a merit basis will get selected for FREE SCHOOLING either in class 9 or class 11 as per your application.
The Schools where you will get admission will be either GOVT residential schools or PRIVATE residential schools. All the schools under SHRESHTA are affiliated with the CBSE board. You don’t have to pay anything as the Central Govt of India will bear the cost.
There are already selected schools under the SHRESHTA, more schools are added from time to time. The district administration (mostly the Deputy Commissioner / DC) of your district is responsible for the selection of the schools, if you are selected for the FREE schooling then you can get in touch with the district administration to get the school details where you’ll get admission.
How to Apply for NETS Entrance Exam 2022?
