Nalbari Medical College and Hospital: Nalbari medical college and hospital (NMCH) is the first medical college in Nalbari district of Assam. The NMCH was established on 2019 and virtually inaugurated on 14 April 2023 by the Hon’ble PM Modi.
The Nalbari medical college is a government medical college and is affiliated with Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) and approved by the National Medical Commission(NMC) for 100 MBBS seat. Nalbari Medical College established in 2019 is located 11 kilometers away from the Nalbari town (district capital) and 6.5 kilometers from the national highway. The newly constructed medical college in Nalbari district of Assam will start functioning its first academic session from 2023-24.

The Nalbari district got its first medical college named Nalbari Medical College on 14 April 2023.
The foundation stone laying ceremony of the NMCH was done on 27 Jan 2019 and after 4 years, the Nalbari Medical College and Hospital was virtually inaugurated on 14 April 2023 by the Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi along with the inauguration of AIIMS Guwahati, and other two medical colleges in Assam – Kokrajhar medical college and Nagaon medical college.
The establishment of Nalbari Government Medical College will bring a lot of healthcare development in the region.
