What is NEET?
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, abbreviated as NEET, is a qualifying exam for admissions to medical colleges. It is the first step toward becoming an MBBS. When we say medical, the first thing we can think of is a Doctor or MBBS. Because MBBS is very common and popular in our societies, let’s clarify that Medical does not refer to a Doctor or MBBS only. Medical is a very vast term. It is a course of study with various courses and branches. Medical as a course of study offers various courses such as MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), BDS (Bachelor of Dental Sciences), BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery), BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery), DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery) and many more.
What is NEET-UG?
NEET conducts separate exams for undergraduate and postgraduate candidates. This article is about the NEET under-graduate (NEET-UG), and it’s the first door to your dreams of becoming a Doctor.
NEET UG is a common entrance exam conducted every year for aspiring students willing to take up a profession in the medical line. Qualifying for NEET 2022 will open the door for you to enter top-rated medical colleges or institutes such as AIIMS and many other Medical Colleges.
You can choose any undergraduate (UG) medical courses mentioned if you pass the NEET-UG 2022 Exam. Now you may wonder! Do I become a Doctor directly after passing the NEET? Well, the answer is NO. You will have to apply for admission to any medical colleges that accept NEET scores. Generally, all the seats in Government and Private Medical colleges in India are filled based on NEET All India Rank (AIR).

What is NEET PG?
The other NEET exam for postgraduate courses in Medical Science is NEET PG. However, NEET P.G is conducted by the National Board Of Examinations In Medical Sciences. If you are a Postgraduate Medical Student, you can apply for NEET P.G. 2022.

NEET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates should be 12th or equivalent exam passed with the Science stream
- Candidates should be appearing in the last year of Class 12th.
- Candidates have appeared in 12th or equivalent exams and waiting for the 12th results.
Age:
- They have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course.
- Lower Age Limit: Candidates should be born on or before 31 December 2005.
- Upper Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for NEET 2022 age criteria.
Note: Indian Citizens/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) intending to pursue Undergraduate
Medical Courses in a foreign Medical/ Dental Institute also need to qualify for NEET (UG).

The last date for the 2022 NEET application form is 6 May 2022. NTA has released the application form on the official web portal of NEET NTA. Interested candidates can visit the official website to check the advertisement announced officially by NTA. To apply for NEET 2022 application form, the candidates must register themselves. All the registered candidates need to pay their application fee before 7 May 2022(11.50 p.m.) through online modes – net banking, credit/debit card payment, UPI payment and other modes of online payment. The registration fee for NEET 2022 is as follows:

How to Apply NEET 2022?
- Go to the official website of NEET NTA.
- Select New Registration/If already registered, sign in.
- After Successful registration, you will receive application no. and password via email and message to your registered email and mobile no.
- Type your application no. and password and the security pin (provided already in the sign-in dialogue box)
- Now, you are signed in and only one step away from appearing in NEET 2022. Fill in all the required details in the application form.
- You will need to complete your payment at the last stage of the NEET 2022 online application.
- After successful payment, wait till you are redirected to the previous page of the online application portal from the payment portal.
- If you have received a confirmation message or email regarding a successful application/payment, your application process has been successful.

NEET 2022 Syllabus
There is no official syllabus for NEET 2022 yet. But the aspiring candidates can follow the NEET 2019 syllabus recommended by the Medical Council of India (MCI) for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to MBBS courses across the country after review of various State syllabi as well as those prepared by CBSE, NCERT and COBSE. It is to establish uniformity across the country, keeping in view the relevance of different areas in medical education.

NEET 2022 Exam Pattern
The Test pattern of NEET 2022 comprises four Subjects. Each subject – PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BOTANY, ZOOLOGY will consist of two sections, i.e. Section A and Section B. Section A will consist of 35 Questions, and Section B will have 15 Questions; out of these 15 Questions, candidates can choose to attempt any 10 Questions. So, the total number of questions and time utilization will remain the same for the detailed pattern of the exam check on the Brochure of NEET-UG 2022.
